Digital Reporting (iXBRL)

Digital reporting refers to any report (financial, non-financial, tax, etc.) presented in a coded format that allows for the automatic processing and analysis of data.

This type of reporting increases information transparency and makes companies more accessible, analyzable, and comparable for a wide range of stakeholders, including regulators, investors, and analysts. It facilitates the rapid and reliable dissemination of reporting information and minimizes errors.

This format has already become mandatory in many countries, including the USA, the entire European Union, the UK, Japan and many more. The number of such countries is steadily growing each year. What are XHTML, XBRL, and iXBRL?

XHTML (Extensible HyperText Markup Language)

is a markup language that is an extension of HTML, compliant with the XML standard. Unlike HTML, it is a stricter and more structured version of the language, ideal for creating digital reports. The primary goal of XHTML is to combine human readability with machine readability, meaning the data can be interpreted by software.

XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language)

is the global standard upon which digital reporting is based. Each data point within a report is assigned a digital tag, which allows software to automatically process the data. This significantly simplifies the process of information exchange, data analysis, and regulatory oversight.

iXBRL (Inline Extensible Business Reporting Language)

is a digital reporting format based on XHTML, enriched with additional data (XBRL tags). It allows specialized information systems to automatically process data while simultaneously presenting it in a user-friendly and familiar format (a web page).
